In tribute to Judith Butler, Transgressa is a woman dressing in drag as a man playing a woman.She is a Bio queen or a biologically challenged Drag Queen and proud of it. Transgressa begins to deconstruct drag and transgress away from gender...........

Daddy Long Leggs is a slightly eccentric Drag King obsessed with the impossible task of trying to become Fred Astaire and escaping reality. The stage is set as a studio space enshrined to Fred Astaire, where Daddy Long Leggs draws you into his world.

Marlene Dandy is a elegant and sophisticated bearded lady who emulates Marlene Dietrich a known cross-dresser and bisexual. Marlene is inspired by Film Noir, Art Novo/Romantic ballet, early burlesque, the goddess Athena and Greek mythology.

Meet Transgressa and listen to her stories and secrets while she transforms you into an honorary Drag Queen. An intimate 15 min one-to-one exchange with Transgressa .The audience member would be led “Backstage” by an invigilator to have a one-to-one conversational exchange with Transgressa.

Daddy Long Leggs is a slightly eccentric Drag King obsessed with the impossible task of trying to become Fred Astaire.

Daddy Long Legs begins the performance by asking the audience member to dance with him cheek to cheek and draws you into his obsessive world. The audience member is transformed through make-up and facial hair into a drag king. Magic and vaudevillian props are used as a metaphor for transformation in this piece.

Let Marlene envelop you in her surreal world of feather fans, champagne, lingerie and surreal flirtation backstage at the greenroom. Pushing your expectations of beauty and attractiveness, Marlene will seduce you while you help her to get ready for her next show.

Arnolfini Associate Artist, Tom Marshman and his comrade in arms, Annette Foster host three days of workshops, performances, interventions and parties. They have independently spent the last few years developing trilogies of performances that play with identity, gender and costumery. Whilst Tom unravels manly codes of etiquette whilst dolling himself up in gay-iconic uniforms, Foster adopts three different personas, becoming a fluid gender illusionist who questions our cultural ideologies of sexuality and gender construction. At Arnolfini they will reveal their new identities just for you.
